Anna is a lovely young, vibrant wedding celebrant who not long ago, did Chris & Oksana’s wedding out at Mount Cootha Botanical Gardens. Anna contacted me after hearing about the feedback from Chris & Oksana – and wanted someone to be her DJ & MC at her wedding, and to help take control, and ensure it runs smoothly & handled professionally on her day.

As both Anna & Bailey work remotely, we ended up having our initial consultation over Skype, with Bailey in Rockhampton, and Anna at home to discuss what they were after.

The vibe I got from Anna, was that she wanted a DJ, and a MC to really just make sure the Entertainment, and formalities were covered. As she works in the wedding industry, I felt that she wanted someone that really had some experience, and professionalism to just really take charge on the day and make sure everything was organised to the way she had planned and visioned.

….and what a vision it was! Given the wedding was all the way out at Toowoomba, she chose this place because of it’s picturesque views, and the land and gardens surrounding the venue were just amazing. Such beautiful landscape, trees, gardens, shrubs, grass – everything. I wish I had found out about this place because it was just beautiful!

Here are some photos that I was greeted with on arrival.

It was just amazing! To think this place is hidden away in Toowoomba, was just crazy! Down a lovely driveway, and then onto these beautiful grounds was a wedding venue that I just really loved. Guests had the privilege of walking around and playing with Giant Chess, Jenga and Connect 4, followed by a Sack Race at 1pm which I ended up helping out with and hosting.

Anna & Bailey had this great idea to have a sack race prior to the ceremony, and the winner would get to announce them as Husband & Wife at the Ceremony for the first time! There was about 12 contestants that entered in – with a variety of ages from young to old that got involved!

It wasn’t long until the Wedding Ceremony started – and what a beautiful ceremony, it was absolutely beautiful seeing their gorgeous 2 dogs walk down the isle together, followed by the Bridal Party in their lovely outfits, and then Anna – there was certainly a few tears from Bailey watching her – and Bernadette from Bernadette Draffin Photography were doing a great job running around filming everyone and capturing the moments for them to watch later.

After the ceremony, guests got a chance to mingle around and chat, enjoy the lovely views of Gabbinbar Homestead walking around – there was even some guests playing Croquet around the corner while Anna & Bailey got some photos. Guests also enjoyed some cigars with a few drinks while I was in the room getting everything ready for their arrival.

The Reception Room looked absolutely stunning, and it was very well managed with the help of Elizabeth who is the Wedding & Event Planner. She is such a great person to work with. As their Wedding MC, I worked with Elizabeth helping make sure that the timeline was all correct and in order so that we were both on par, and that everything was happening when it was supposed to. I had my run sheet, and she had hers, and we cross-checked everything to make sure it was all correct.

In addition to that, I worked with the Videographer and Photographer to make sure that they were aware of how they were walking in (as I had a few surprises) and they were ready to go.

Anna & Bailey had arranged for some fireworks later on in the evening for their first dance – so that required a lot of co-coordinating with the venue to make sure it was all running clock work and timed correctly.

With an exciting entrance for this cute couple in store – and a story to reminisce about how they had met with a reference to a bad pickup line – the night started off great. The room looked amazing, and with a see through open roof top window above them – it made for quite literally a night under the stars.

We had a few speeches from friends and family – with a really funny speech from the bridesman (yes that’s right!) and not long after an amazing first dance with fireworks. It really was so beautiful especially after hearing Anna & Bailey’s speech together.

The night continued on with heaps of dancing on the dance floor – and getting into the Photo Booth with Booth Me providing some fun props and entertainment for guests to get some happy snaps in.

The night wrapped up about 11:00pm, and after seeing Anna & Bailey depart, guests headed home – with me packing up and making the 2 hour drive home afterwards to Brisbane.
